Bailiff’s House

The Mikuláštík bailiff’s house ranks among the most valuable monuments to Carpathian culture not just in Zlínsko, but in the entire
region. The bailiff’s house, built in 1748, is a typical timbered construction with a gallery in the facade. Housed in the bailiff’s house is an exhibition on the history of the village, the surrounding villages and rural life in Valašsko. Standing at the bailiff’s house is a statue of Portáš, the work of sculptor Stanislav Mikuláštík. The village of Jasenná was famous in the past for woven baskets – circular, not too deep baskets from ribs with multi-purpose uses in agricultural farmsteads. In addition to these, simple beds and wooden spoons from ribs were also manufactured in the village. Drying in wooden kilns, canning jam and distilling plum brandy continue to this day.
